POSITION SUMMARY
Directly supervises workers’ and subcontractors’ day-to-day work on construction projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Supervises and directs the work of designated team members and subcontractors.
- Monitors productivity and work quality to meet schedules and standards.
- Troubleshoots any issues involving workers, contractors, safety, quality, changes, or processes and expedites solutions.
- Monitors and ensures adherence to all company and customer quality policies and procedures.
- Oversees expenditures to ensure they are within budget
- Meets with customers to communicate progress and/or participates in site meetings as required by the company and/or customers.
- Operates various equipment and uses a variety of tools on the job as needed.
- Determines materials and quantities needed and places orders to ensure work demands and deadlines are met.
- Performs site work such as layouts; installation of wood or metal frame work, concrete forms, ladders, handrails, walkways, platforms and gangways; erects scaffolding or temporary access structures.
- Consistently communicates with Project Manager regarding project plans and status as well as labor and resource needs.
- Completes STA’s, Equipment Checklists, Hot Work forms and daily time and labor reports.
- Performs minor maintenance and cleaning of tools and equipment.
- Identifies and addresses potential safety hazards.
- Investigates all accidents and good catches (near misses), completes the necessary paperwork in a timely manner, and submits all documentation to the designated personnel for handling.
- Adheres to all safety protocols and regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
- Five (5) or more years of related industry experience
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior experience leading, directing and supervising others
- Valid driver’s license
- Good communication and organization skills
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing; some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally, the job requires 10% sitting, 45% walking, and 45% standing. The job is performed outdoors, indoors and in various geographic locations.
