  • Kaplan Nursing Admissions Test (KNAT)

The entrance test will be waived for students who have completed an Associate of Science degree, Associate of Applied Science in Nursing or Allied Health, and those who have completed any bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

Kaplan’s Admissions Test is a 91-question, online, multiple-choice test that evaluates the basic reading, writing, math, and science skills of students seeking entry into a nursing program. Candidates who have met preliminary application requirements will be scheduled to take this 3-hour mandatory exam in person on the SNU campus. It will be scheduled by the School of Nursing and will be administered up to four times during the Fall 2025 semester. A minimum overall score of 65 is required. Students taking the admission exam will be evaluated in 5 subjects: Math, Reading, Science, Writing, and Critical Thinking.

The School of Nursing strongly recommends purchasing a Kaplan (KNAT) study guide and at least 2 online practice exams in preparation for taking the entrance exam. Kaplin recommendation: Nursing School Entrance Exams Prep: Your All-in-One Guide to Kaplan and HESI exams (Kaplan Test Prep) https://a.co/d/740ei44

More information regarding the Kaplan exam will be provided to program applicants in the Nursing Preparation Packet.
